Equivalence of Hamiltonian and Lagrangian path integral quantization: Effective gauge theories.

چکیده
The equivalence of correct Hamiltonian and naive Lagrangian (Faddeev–Popov) path integral quantization (Matthews’s theorem) is proven for gauge theories with arbitrary effective interaction terms. Effective gauge-boson self-interactions and effective interactions with scalar and fermion fields are considered. This result becomes extended to effective gauge theories with higher derivatives of the fields. ∗E-Mail: [email protected]

Hamiltonian quantization of effective Lagrangians with massive vector fields.
Effective Lagrangians containing arbitrary interactions of massive vector fields are quantized within the Hamiltonian path integral formalism. It is proven that correct Hamiltonian quantization of these models yields the same result as naive Lagrangian quantization (Matthews’s theorem). This theorem holds for models without gauge freedom as well as for (linearly or nonlinearly realized) spontan...
متن کاملSuperfield Quantization Method . III . Construction of Quantization Scheme
Quantization procedure in the framework of general superfield quantization method (GSQM), based on the Lagrangian [1] and Hamiltonian [2] formulations for general super-field theory of fields, for irreducible gauge theories in Lagrangian formalism is proposed. Extension procedure for supermanifold M cl of superfields A ı (θ), ghost number construction are considered. Classical and ¯ h-deformed ...
متن کاملThe effective action and quantum gauge transformations
The concept of symmetry was and remains a very powerful tool for construction of the quantum field theory. One of its main virtues is that the symmetry restricts a form of the action, which lies in the ground of the theory. Consequences of the classical symmetry play a crucial role for renormalizability of the quantum theory. And in the investigation of this problem the effective action takes a...
متن کاملQuantization of the multidimensional rotor
We reconsider the problem of quantising a particle on the D-dimensional sphere. Adopting a Lagrangian method of reducing the degrees of freedom, the quantum Hamiltonian is found to be the usual Schrödinger operator without any boundary term. The equivalence with the Dirac Hamiltonian approach is demonstrated, either in the cartesian or in the curvilinear basis. We also briefly comment on the pa...
متن کاملQuantum Equivalence of Auxiliary Field Methods in Supersymmetric Theories
Quantum corrections to Legendre transformations are shown to cancel to all orders in supersymmetric theories in path integral formalism. Using this result, lagrangians for auxiliary fields are generalized to non-quadratic forms. In supersymmetric effective nonlinear lagrangians, the arbitrariness due to the existence of quasi Nambu-Goldstone bosons is shown to disappear when local auxiliary gau...
